The Boswellia Serrata tree grows in India. Its gummy resin, called Salai guggal, has been found to reduce inflammation and to support the body's response to pain, including that caused by painful joints. Studies show that Boswellia serrata may reduce levels of harmful enzymes in the synovial fluid in joints, thus reducing damage to cartilage. These actions are said to reduce pain and swelling while increasing flexibility.
