8 Ways To Do Fall 2020 The Right Way

, |
Summer 2020 has now officially ended. First of all, we would like to congratulate on making it through a season of, perhaps, one of the weirdest times that we, as a global population, have ever had to live. As the first days of September have now begun, we open our arms to the fall season. Usually characterized by crisp autumn afternoons, apple picking, trick-or-treating, and pumpkin spice everything, fall 2020 looks slightly different this year. Nevertheless, we believe that that everyone can treat themselves magnificently this upcoming season, even during these unprecedented times.

Therefore, we have prepared a list of safe, fun, and distinctly autumnal activities that you can do to have a festive fall.

Go for a walk

Whether you do a quick round of the backyard or go for a socially distanced hike, breathing in the fresh autumn air would do you some good. Intensely needed after months spent cooped up at home, going out and seeing the season's change is not just healthy, but would also provide several photographic opportunities.

Make some homemade treats

Pumpkin spice is like black licorice. Some people love it. Some people hate it. Nevertheless, it cannot be disputed that pumpkin spice is the ultimate fall flavor. With several Starbucks closed around the country, you can make your own pumpkin spiced latte, cake, or cookie. However, if pumpkin spice isn't your cup of tea, you can make some delicious gingerbread cookies or hot chocolate brownies.

Pick some fresh produce

In the midst of lockdown, millions of people have turned to gardening to while the hours away. If you happen to be one for harvesting, pick some fresh produce, and prepare some delicious autumnal dishes using freshly harvested goodies. Some cozy comfort food ideas include homemade applesauce, pumpkin soup, veggie stew, or a pot pie made with fresh vegetables.

Fall football

Nothing feels more fall-like than a good football game. Even if the NFL or college football experiences might not be the same this year, dress up in your favorite team jerseys, make some of your favorite party food, and head outside to play football with your family.

Set up camp

On a temperate fall evening, sleep under the stars and create your own campground in your backyard. Set up some tents, get a bonfire going, and toast some s' mores. Sip on some hot apple cider, exchange stories, and share memories with your favorite people around you. Luckily, if the weather turns or if you're simply not cut out for roughing it, home is only a few steps away with all the comforts you know and love (hello fully stocked kitchen, hello clean bathrooms, hello warm and comfortable bed!)

Game night!

Prepare some snacks and gather the family for the ultimate game night. Whether you have a penchant for puzzles, poker, or Pictionary, there are countless board, card, and parlor games that you can enjoy with your crowd.

Snuggle a cozy blanket with a cup of something hot

It is an undisputed fact that fall is the coziest season of the year. As the weather gets crisp, there is nothing better than snuggling under a warm blanket with a cup of tea, coffee, or cocoa. As you snuggle down and get cozy, tick off something from your Netflix watchlist or pick out a good book.

Pimp your pumpkins

Carving pumpkins is the quintessential fall activity. Whether it's for Halloween or simply sprucing up your home for the new season, carve a store-bought or homegrown pumpkin and get creative with it!
